lesson POLICies

Our teachers are dedicated musicians who book their own schedules and invest in the  musical development and success of each student. Our policies are put in place so that we can provide the best possible experience to our students and to provide a consistent and sustainable teaching environment for our faculty.

 

Membership Tuition:

  • Your payment will be billed monthly, based on the length of your lesson at the agreed upon price.

  • Tuition is a flat monthly fee. Most months have 4 or 5 lessons, and occasionally 3 lessons when in observance of major national holidays.

  • Your first month's payment is due upon sale date. After that you will be charged on the sale date of each month.

  • Tuition is due on the first of each month and is billed automatically to VISA or Mastercard. (“Auto-pay”)

  • A $25 late fee will be charged for payment received after the 15th of each month for non auto-pay members.

  • A $25 fee will be charged for each returned check.

Attendance:

  • Students are expected to be punctual to their weekly lessons.

  • Late arrival for lessons will not be made up or credited.

Lesson Cancellation:

  • All cancellations and rescheduling can be made directly with your teacher or the studio by phone, text, email, or using our automated scheduling system.

  • No tuition credit or refund will be provided for student no-shows.

  • If a teacher has to cancel a lesson, we will first attempt to find a substitute teacher for that lesson before canceling the lesson.

  • When a lesson is canceled with at least 24-hour advance notice (By Email, Phone, or Text), a make-up lesson credit will be issued to your account.

  • Cancellations made with less than 24-hour notice will not qualify for a Make-up Lesson credit unless approved by the studio.

  • No more than 3 Make-up Lesson Credits can be pending at a time per membership unless approved by the studio.

  • Credits may be used to schedule Make-up Lessons online or by email at any time with your teacher or other available teacher.

  • Make-up Lesson Credit(s) expire 60 days after membership ends.

  • If your teacher is not available, you may choose to study with another teacher if they are available.

  • Make-up Lessons cannot be rescheduled.

  • Make-up Lesson Credit(s) expires 60 days after membership ends.

Membership Cancellation:

  • You may cancel a membership at any time.

  • Memberships canceled after the monthly payment has been processed will receive credit for the month and the membership will be canceled at the beginning of the next month.

  • Membership may be canceled by email notification or in person to the Studio only and not through the teacher.

  • We DO NOT offer refunds on remaining balances, only credit. Balances are transferable to any other lesson or class, however cash refunds are not given.

  • Membership is transferable to another family member.

  • Community Music Space does not provide tuition refund under any circumstances.

  • Community Music Space reserves the right to terminate membership, in which case prorated tuition will be refunded.

Lesson Packs:

  • We do not offer recurring weekly lessons with Lesson Packs. These lessons must be booked one at a time.

  • For recurring weekly lessons, you must purchase a membership.

  • Packages must be purchased internally by CMS admin.

  • Once a package has been fulfilled, a new package must be purchased before continuing lessons.

  • We carry a 24 hour policy for our lesson packages (see Lesson Cancellation above)

  • All packages are transferable to other lessons of the same value or to another teacher or family member.

  • Refunds for packages are NOT given but the balance may be applied as a credit to your account.

Substitutions:

  • If your teacher is unable to teach a lesson, we will work to find a substitute. If we are unable to find a sub, you will receive a lesson credit.

  • Credits can be used to reschedule with the same teacher any other teacher at the studio.

  • Regular lesson cancellation policy applies to substitute teachers.

  • If your teacher is not able to continue weekly lessons, we will work with you to find a new teacher.

Summer (July, August):

  • A monthly membership may be put on hold for up to two (2) months by notifying the studio that you will be away.

  • Your lesson time and teacher will be reserved by pre-paying tuition for the returning month.

  • While on summer hold, members may purchase individual lessons or packages of lessons.

Injuries:

You assume all risk of injury or harm to the child(ren) or adult(s) associated with participation in musical activities at Community Music Space and agree to release, indemnify, defend and forever discharge Community Music Space and its officers and staff from all liability, claims, demands, damages, costs, and expenses in the unlikely event of injury sustained by your child(ren) or adult student during the course or as a result of their participation in Community Music Space musical activities.

 

Photo/Video Release:

Unless requested in writing, Community Music Space is granted permission to take photographs/videos of the students to use in brochures, websites, posters, advertisements, and other promotional materials Community Music Space creates.  Permission is also hereby granted for Community Music Space to copyright such photographs in its name.
