EDMUND BAGNELL

VIOLIN

An active performing violinist, Edmund performs as a soloist and also as first violinist in the classical/pop string quartet Well Strung. Touring appearances include across the United States, Mexico, Europe and Russia. He has conducted master classes both in the United States and internationally, and previously gave private lessons in New York City.

Classically trained, Edmund received his bachelor in music performance degree from the conservatory at NYU (summa cum laude). During his time there he also studied violin at the prestigious Meadowmount School of Music. He first learned violin using the Suzuki method, and then studied privately with Jerrie Luctenberg, using the Galamian system. Other teachers include Dr Mellasenah Edwards at the SC Governer’s school for the Arts, and Arturo Delmoni (concertmaster of NY City Balltet).

The quartet, Well Strung, released three chart topping albums in the classical crossover genre and performed live several times on the Today Show. In December Edmund released a solo holiday album, Christmas at Home, which was included on several best of lists including USA Today.

Edmund is a patient teacher, and values building a solid violin technique that can be applied to today’s music across all genres.
